Hoa Lư Ancient Capital Festival (or Trường Yên Festival)

The festival is held annually on the 6, 7, 8th of March of the lunar calendar in Truong Yen commune, Hoa Lu district with the purpose of commemorating the two kings Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Dai Hanh.

The festival includes two parts:

Worshiping: includes water procession at Truong Yen water station located on Hoang Long river and worship at the two temples of King Dinh and King Le.

Entertainment activities: Performing "Co lau tap tran", competing in writing Han script, playing chess, performing dragon dance, etc.

Bái Đính Pagoda Mountain Festival

The festival is held annually on the 6th of January of the lunar calendar in Sinh Duoc village, Gia Sinh commune, Gia Vien district. Like other festivals, this one comprises two parts: worshiping and entertaining.

The worshiping includes the purification and commemoration of heroic martyrs. The entertaining activities take about 3 days, including playing chess and wrestling.
